With friends by your side, anything is possible!

Fish House Designs would be just another great idea if not for the support of my family and friends. When my childhood friend, Jen moved back from the west coast we spent many evenings talking about –well- life as grown-ups! We did this of course while keeping track of our kids, dogs and my husband!! It was during this time that Jen offered to take some of my designs and help produce a line of greeting cards.

I started doing summer shows and selling my card line in local stores. Our friends Christel and Kimberly (also, friends from the good ol’ days) would help with my business whenever they were in town visiting. We spent evenings in hotel rooms catching up, talking about motherhood, folding cards and pricing product. Kimberly is the Organizing Queen! Every card and print is in its place when Kimberly comes to town (and everything is done in record time!).

Christel started joining me at art shows whenever she could. She charmed our visitors and quietly took note of what sold the most, where the product was going, etc. She became invaluable to me at these shows and it was a lot more fun!

When Christel was earning her MBA from Boston University, she used Fish House Designs as her business plan model for her thesis. She put the wheels in motion and upon graduating, became my partner in Fish House Designs!

Now, my designs are sold in numerous places up and down the east coast and new products and designs are continually being produced. Check back often to see what’s new at Fish House Designs!

HOLLY ROSS
Artist and Creator of Fish House Designs

Holly Ross has been drawing and designing since she was a child. Holly grew up outside of Boston and spent weekends and summers at her family’s beach house in Maine. Holly has always loved creating handmade cards, writing and keeping illustrated journals of events in her life.

After developing her creative style at the Rhode Island School of Design, Holly continued to design for others. Holly’s work has been used in advertising, logo design, t-shirt and product design. Holly’s designs have appeared on numerous covers of Southern Maine’s Tourist News publication and the cover of the 2001 United Way’s Artists of the Seacoast calendar as well as in private collections.

Holly has taken her signature style, her love of popular phrases and her own delightful prose and created Fish House Designs.

New England’s vibrant colors, rugged seacoast and weather-beaten cottages, as well as cherished childhood memories are all inspiration for Holly’s playful designs.
Holly’s designs appeal to the young as well as the young at heart! These designs are fun, sophisticated and perfect for the home, coastal cottage or child’s room.
The artist lives and works out of her home by the sea in Maine with her husband and their two children.
